white fir - Abies concolor

Common Name: white fir

Scientific Name:
Family: Pinaceae
Genus: Abies

Species: concolor

Hardiness Zone: 3 to 7
Height: 40 to 70 ft
Width: 20 to 30 ft

Description: The white fir is considered to be one of the best firs for this area. They are quite beautiful and hardy for our conditions. Personally, it is my favortite fir. The tree is well adapted to many site conditions and will thrive where other evergreens will not. The needles, when crushed, will emit a tangerine scent. This makes identification very easy.
