Description:​ ​​The European white poplar is a relatively short lived tree but will continue to hold on long past its prime. The most distinguishing feature of this tree are its leaves which have a white whooly underside that is easily discernible amongst other trees. The wood is brittle and easily decayed. The tree will send out multiple root suckers in attempts to regenerate. This tree is susceptible to multiple diseases and insects. We recommend avoiding this species.
