There may be up to 600 different crabapple types, so nailing down specific characteristics is quite hard. Crabapples are widely used under power lines as boulevard trees as well as landscape trees. Some varieties are prone to profuse suckering and need to be tended to yearly. These trees are coveted for their beautiful spring flowers.
