Description :
The blue beech tree also known as American hornbeam, musclewood, or ironwood can be found growing naturally in the forests of Minnesota but can also be used as a landscape tree. This small, slow-growing tree can do well in full shade, and adapts well to a wide range of soil conditions, drainage classes, and pH levels. This tree has distinct flares on the trunk and branches that resemble muscle definition. These are smaller trees in stature and may be a good option if you are looking for a smaller landscape tree.
